2021 Controlled Substance CE Option - How to Save a Life: Assessing and Supporting Patients with Opioid Use Disorders (P)


Educational Objectives:
After completing this program, the pharmacist will be able to:
  1. Assess patients for risk of suicide or harm using validated tools
  2. Recognize strategies to provide nonjudgmental support to patients and combat stigmas associated with substance use disorders
  3. Identify patients at risk for opioid overdose and counsel on the importance of naloxone
  4. Identify key resources related to substance use disorders to recommend and provide to patients and their family members

Credit Hours Available:  This program was recorded and adapted from a live activity at the UofSC COP Annual Continuing Education Conference held via Zoom on
March 13, 2021.  The program is accredited for 1.25 home study hours (0.125 CEUs).  The video presentation is 1 hour and 18 minutes long, with quiz questions throughout.
 
How to Earn Credit: Participants must 1) read the learning objectives and faculty disclosures, 2) listen to the video presentation and complete the interactivity quiz, and 3) complete the evaluation form. To receive credit, you must provide your date of birth and NABP number. CE credit will be submitted to the NABP CE Monitor.

Requirements for CE Credit

In order to receive credit for this home study program, participants must:
  1. Read the learning objectives and faculty disclosures
  2. Review the video presentation and interactivity quiz
  3. Complete the program evaluation form.
In order for credit to be transmitted to the NABP CPE Monitor, participants must provide their month and day of birth and NABP e-Profile ID number.  Registration with a proper disclosure of the NABP E-Id is a requirement for receiving Continuing Pharmacy Education.  To register with NABP CPE Monitor or look up your NABP E-profile ID, please click on the CPE Monitor logo below to be directed to their site.  Failure to follow this process within the required timeframe will result in loss of credit.  If you would like a paper statement of credit, you may print an individual statement or a transcript from your NABP e-profile.
