At the completion of this activity, the participant will be able to:
- Describe basic principles of Motivational Interviewing (MI)
- Demonstrate core skills of MI, including open-ended questions, affirmations, reflective listening, and summarizing (OARS skills)
- Identify best practices in implementing MI to promote uptake of recommended immunizations
- Define 'stages of change' and explain MI-based strategies appropriate for each stage
- Discriminate between change talk and sustain talk
