Educational Objectives:
At the completion of this activity, the pharmacist will be able to:
  1. Produce a SCRIPTS Narx Report with more confidence by understanding the value of proper data entry for controlled substance (CII-CIV) prescriptions
  2. Evaluate the safe and appropriate use of opioids as well as pick up clues to other clinical concerns with a SCRIPTS Narx Report
  3. Educate patients and caregivers on how to prevent and respond to an accidental opioid overdose, including proper use of naloxone
  4. Explain safe storage and disposal of opioids to patients, family, and caregivers to help protect people, pets, and the environment
How to Earn CPE Credit:
Step 1: Register for this program
  • Click on the green "Register Now" button below
  • If you have an account in our system, input your login credentials
  • If you do not have an account in our system -  "I am a new user and will create my account"
  • After logging in/creating your account. 
  • Click the blue "Register" button
Step 2: (After registering for program) Access the required documents
  • Below under "Course Materials" find the documents
  • Read and study each document
Step 3: If you wish to receive CPE credit,
  • Click on the green "Take the Test" button. 
  • Pass the test with a 75% or greater
  • Complete the evaluation
    • After evaluation is complete (and if your NABP ID/Birthdate are corrrect) your CE will be automatically uploaded to the CPE Monitor.
To access the documents after you've completed the course:
  • Click on "View/Print CE Credit"
  • Click on "Course Materials" under the name of the course
  • You will be redirected to the "Course Materials" section of the page where this information is located.
To learn more about tipSC, please visit their website: https://www.schealthviz.sc.edu/. Currently, this is the only program that is CPE accredited, however the website has many great resources. 
 
Privacy and Confidentiality:  Information received by the University of South Carolina College of Pharmacy for continuing education (CE) programs will be maintained in a confidential and secure manner.  In order for continuing education credit to be submitted to the NABP CPE Monitor, personal information such as your NABP e-Profile ID and day and month of birth will be required along with your name and contact information.

Requirements for CE Credit

In order to receive credit for this home study program, participants must:
  1. Read the learning objectives and faculty disclosures
  2. Review the video presentation and engage in any suggested interactivity
  3. Complete the post-test with a score of at least 75%
  4. Complete the program evaluation form.
In order for credit to be transmitted to the NABP CPE Monitor, participants must provide their month and day of birth and NABP e-Profile ID number.  Registration with a proper disclosure of the NABP E-Id is a requirement for receiving Continuing Pharmacy Education.  To register with NABP CPE Monitor or look up your NABP E-profile ID, please click on the CPE Monitor logo below to be directed to their site.  Failure to follow this process within the required timeframe will result in loss of credit.  If you would like a paper statement of credit, you may print an individual statement or a transcript from your NABP e-profile.
