Pharmacy will be the epicenter for USP <800> implementation and the impact of these new standards will be felt by nearly all practicing pharmacy personnel.  Many pharmacists and pharmacy technicians are unaware of this new standard and the fact that USP identifies dispensing tablets, liquids, and topical dosage forms, in addition to non-sterile compounding with active pharmaceutical ingredients, as potential hazardous drug exposures for pharmacy personnel.  This program will explain the potential impact on community pharmacy practice and the compliance requirements outlined in USP <800> for those entities that are handling hazardous drugs
