Requirements for CE Credit

To claim credit for a session, participants must sign-in at and attend the entire session.  Participants must complete online evaluations (providing their correct NABP e-profile number and day/month of birth) in order to have credit reported to the NABP CPE Monitor.  Evaluations should be completed and credit claimed within 30 days of the live program to ensure transmission to the NABP CPE Monitor.  The NABP CPE Monitor will not accept any credit claimed and transmitted greater than 60 days from the date of the live program.

At the completion of this activity, the participant will be able to:
  1. Describe the current data on the use and abuse of opioids in the US
  2. Accurately assess patients with pain for consideration of an opioid trial
  3. Establish realistic goals for pain management and restoration of function
  4. Initiate and titrate opioid treatment (IR and ER/LA) safely and judiciously, maximizing efficacy while minimizing risks
  5. Monitor and re-evaluate treatment continuously; discontinue safely when appropriate
  6. Counsel patients and caregivers about use, potential adverse effects, misuse, abuse, diversion and overdose
  7. Educate patients about safe storage and disposal of opioids
